Message from the Tri-mentoring Director
Dear Members:
My name is Yue Vivian Chen and I will be this chapter's Tri-Mentoring
Director for the upcoming academic year. I'm excited to
get the Tri-Mentoring Program up and running as I know many
students value the opportunities that come from being paired
with a Mentor or Mentee.
The Tri-Mentoring Program at UBC Golden Key brings together
students and professionals in a supportive mentoring
triad each year. Senior students at UBC are matched with
a Faculty or Industry Mentor with whom they explore career
opportunities and gain insight into their field of interest.
Senior students (3rd/4th year) are also matched with a junior
student (2nd year) so that the junior student can receive
valuable advice on campus life, volunteer opportunities,
degree programs, and course selection. The time commitment
for this Program will be 10-15 hours over a 4 month period
(one semester).
At the end of the first semester, we will be recruiting
for Senior Students and Faculty or Industry Mentors. Once
we get everyone matched up, we will hold a Kickoff event
where the Senior Students can meet their Mentors.
After the Kickoff event, we will start recruiting for Junior
Students. The Junior Students will be added to one of the
pairs and be notified through e-mail.
More information including sign-up procedures will be provided
in later emails. I encourage everyone to come out and take
advantage of this unique networking opportunity. If you
have any questions, please feel free to email me. I hope
to see you all sometime this year!
